Final Presentation - How Do Brands Use Social Media?

For this Final Presentation I chose to talk about my independent study where I created my own business. Throughout final presentation, I focused on the question: How do I create a business where I can sell my art on products? I have been wanting to create my own brand/online shop to sell my art on different types of merchandise. Through this time I really only focused on designing and creating, and unfortunately, didn’t really get to the marketing/advertising aspect of it. Which, is another reason why I want to know how brands REALLY use social media to be able to definitely use this as a source for next term to continue to grow my business.

Throughout this term, I focused on the question: How do I create a business where I can sell my art on products? I have been wanting to create my own brand/online shop to sell my art on different types of merchandise. Such as shirts, posters, stickers, etc. Initially, this was a chance to create my online shop and sell my art consistently, but it turned out to be successful in the terms of creating all of the products and designs. During this time it was more of trying to get the materials that I needed and invest in them to sell/market. I started out with different design ideas that were a potential final draft as one of my designs for my products, while creating them at the same time I had to choose and kind of simplify my ideas as well. I used this time at school to make sure all of the designs I wanted were completed and polished, and I researched the best places to get them made into different types of products. I made connections, asked questions, and also investigated the diff

What Time Is It?

Throughout this unit, we have been discovering what time is and how it works. This led us to continue our mini-lessons on time. Each student gave us a presentation on how time works in different and creative ways. For this unit, we learned about how to tell time without really using a digital clock or our phones. We also learned the history and background of how clocks were created and how it was back then when trying to tell the time. We first learned about sundials. Sundials, are gnomons (tall stick or pillar) where you can put into the ground to determine the shadow it captures and the way it moves. When using a sundial you are able to see how the sun is used to tell the time of day it is. Along with learning about sundials, we learned about longitude, latitude, and how we can calculate our location by using Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This is Newton's Cradle time clock! This is used to determine the hours that have passed, which allows kids and students to truly understan

For the second to last unit of our class, A Nation's Argument, we have been looking into the Bill of Rights and the ratification in it. In the unit, we were able to gain a better understanding of the US Consitution and the fifteenth Amendments. With this investigation, we were able to get way deeper into this topic by watching the documentary, 13. This documentary was focused on the 13th Amendment, which states, "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." We then continued to look and start thinking about American citizens and the rights that are given coming into America, and how these rights apply to immigrants. We also asked the question about how Amendments also address that topic. For this action project, we were able to go through our student handbook to amend a current school rule. I chose to amend the
