For this elective term, I am taking a STEAM class called Game Changers. In this class, we have been learning the different mechanisms, strategies, logistics, and engineering of different games. We have gone on Field Experiences where we have met game designers and understood how much effort and thought that goes into a game. Over this term, we have played many games and analyzed each aspect of it. For this Action Project, we were able to create our own game. By creating our own game, we had to make sure we identified the theme, strategies, player interaction, scoring mechanism, the design, the player elimination, having to have clear and understandable wording for the players, etc. At the beginning of this term, I had never played many games and when I did, I didn’t think about all of the different components they contained. Hello! In this class called Global Peace. We have been talking about activism, and ways we are able to better our community! So for this Action Project, we were given the opportunity to make that happen by selecting an issue we have noticed around our city, and figure out a way we are able to fix it. For this elective term, I chose to take the class called Global Peace. In this class, we are able to talk about ways we are able to use ourselves to make a change for things that we are passionate about. In class, we have talked about activism and the roles it takes to be an activist. We have been talking about different methods known as the Gandhian principles we can use with activism such as Sarvodaya, Swaraj, and Satyagraha. Sharp's Methods are basically more than 190 ways to protest with non-violence actions. Sharp's Method is a very resourceful way to take action without causing harm. Many people use these methods without even realizing it. For this action project, we had to choose an activist to learn about.
