Week 2 Blog Post: PIE

Throughout my second week in my PIE I have been continuing what I have been doing from my first week. So I have been archiving very different and interesting projects from the late seventies, to the eighties, and to the nineties. A lot of what I have been doing to documenting what I have been seeing through the hard copy files and determining what should be scanned to be put on the "P Drive," which is to my understanding a drive that is shared to the whole office for past and current projects. Overall, this is what I have been doing the whole time and talking to different architects about their perspectives and experiences of how they got into architecture and the kinds of things that they are doing now. This past Tuesday I had the ability to interview my supervisor and got a bit more insight into what architecture is and his job position right now. Week 1 Blog Post: PIE

Something that I have learned throughout my PIE is that there are many different things and jobs that is incorporated with architecture. I also learned that not many people know what it exactly is, and depict it as only one part of what it actually is. While being at Booth Hansen I was very welcomed from almost everyone, which wasnt that expected since there's about thirty architects who work there. Everyone seems very open and don't mind having a conversation with me even though I am only an intern. While being at this office I have been archiving past projects, and have been able to see the many different projects that have occured and the interesting pieces that have been put together. For the rest of my time at Booth Hansen I hope I am able to get to see the design aspect of being an architect, how they may use their profession to help others, and also observe more of the many different project they are working on. I am excited to see what I would be learning next!
